1988 Shockwave

1988 Shockwave ARAH Sure Fire GIJvCShockwave and Sure Fire on patrol in an abandoned industrial area…

ARAH Shockwave is a favorite of mine. He’s got a great sculpt and the colors look nice without being too goofy. The Night-Force colors were more muted, but I think this scheme is more fun. I always thought Shockwave seemed incomplete without a riot shield though, so I painted a Marauder’s shield in his colors.

Future Warfare

Battle Force 2000 Hasbro ARAH vintage GI Joe Knockdown Maverick Blaster

The future is always changing and technology is constantly evolving. The Battleforce 2000 is ready to counter any threat, old or new.

I took some inspiration from the Call of Duty: BOIII announcement when making this one. I’m not hugely into the Battleforce 2000, or BOIII, but in certain ways both are nice. Funny how that is.

One Shot, One Chance

Low-Light Dial-Tone Cobra Commander Tele-Viper Major Bludd Cobra Trooper TBM Stinger ARAH Vintage Hasbro GI Joe

Low-Light and Dial-Tone have crawled, hid, and waited for days on a special mission to assassinate Cobra Commander. Will they hit? If they do, there won’t be time to confirm once an onslaught of Cobras go to pursue them.

I’ve never seen a diorama photographed from a first-person perspective, so this was an attempt at that. The secret behind this trickery is that I actually combined three separate images into one, and made the scope overlay in Photoshop. It was fun to do.

Circus Tigers

GI Joe ARAH Vintage Tiger Force Tripwire Stalker Dial-tone Spy-troops

Rather than disabling a trap, Tripwire sets one under Stalkers orders. Though he’s uncomfortable with the task, the Tiger Force will break the rules if it means beating Cobra.

Decided I’d introduce a little vintage fun to the blog. The ARAH Tiger Force figures are one of my favorite GI Joe subsets, and the Spy-Troops era TRU figures aren’t bad, either.
